Ag Forum: Farm-to-school meal plan expands
Many Michigan farmers will sell significantly more fruits and vegetables to Michigan schools this fall, thanks to a new, cutting-edge law championed by area legislators. And if those champions have their way, our farmers could eventually be selling even more of their fresh produce to schools across the state.
Traverse House Gets Juicy
Traverse House Clubhouse is a supportive space for members of our community who face mental health issues. With members visiting daily for meals and pantry offerings, there is ample opportunity to provide quality nutrition and health education on a consistent basis. And, it makes Traverse House a great choice for the 2016 “Building Healthy Communities” grant through Taste the Local Difference®.
Coming Soon: Northern Michigan Train Study
We’ve officially announced the major northern Michigan passenger rail study that will explore regular service between Ann Arbor and the Petoskey and Traverse City areas. The announcement took place last week at press conference along the tracks at Traverse City’s former train depot.
