Thank mI legislators for

supporting transit options

Modern passenger train in rail station

Send this letter to thank legislators for moving transit funding this session further than ever before in Michigan, and encourage them to work hard next session to pass it then!

Though the set of transit bills (SB 559 and 562, and HB 5768, 5769, and 5770) did not make it into law this session, the Senate version did pass and the advancement of the package of bills in the House to the point of scheduling for a vote marks a historic moment, nonetheless. The progress demonstrates that a critical mass of legislators feels such a transformative investment in transit is necessary. It bodes well for the future of Michigan’s public transportation as we work to make our communities less congested, more walkable, and more environmentally healthy.

To keep the momentum going, we’re sending letters to the senators who passed transit bills SB 559 and 562, and to the representatives who cosponsored and supported HB 5768, 5769, and 5770, thanking them for their efforts to improve transit in our state.

Please use our email template on the right to join us in thanking our legislators who have supported these bills by voting for them in the State Senate, or cosponsoring them in the State House.
