Meet Ally licht

Michigan Climate Corps Member

ally.licht@groundworkcenter.org |

As Groundwork’s first Michigan Healthy Climate Corps member, Ally Licht will be expanding the organization’s ability to run programs such as the group-buy solar discount program Access MI Solar and supporting student climate leaders in efforts to expand use of solar energy at schools.

“I’m passionate about environmental justice and community action,” Ally says. What drew Ally to Groundwork was the organization’s deep connections to community members and connections to environmental justice. “Working together is the best way to change the world for the better,” she says. “And I appreciate Groundwork’s commitment to its community members.”

As a graduate of the University of Michigan, Ally has a strong background in environmental studies, urban planning, and community engagement. She’s conducted research on carbon sequestration in Northern Michigan’s aquatic plants, gaining hands-on experience with advanced lab technologies and data analysis tools like ArcGIS and R-Studio. Her passion for fostering connections is evident in her volunteer work as a tutor and peer group facilitator, as well as her creative role as a crossword creator for The Michigan Daily student newspaper.

Looking ahead, Ally is especially excited to be working with students. “I feel they are the most important movers and shakers of the climate movement. The youth are fired up about climate change, and I’m excited to support them.”
