Hello Readers,

Hello. This is Cheryl Hutchinson, Board Chair of Groundwork Center for Resilient Communities. Today I’m sharing one of the most important emails ever sent in the 29 years that Groundwork (originally Michigan Land Use Institute) has been doing its great work.

Our Executive Director, Hans Voss, has announced his resignation, effective at the end of the year (read his farewell), and with this letter, we are opening our search for the person who will take his place at the helm.

Hans has led Groundwork with vision, insight, and integrity—and fun, let’s not forget the fun. And throughout his 25 years as E.D., he’s motivated our team and partners with an unflagging belief that a better world is possible if we focus on sustainable solutions for our great challenges.

Do you know someone of similar principles who can step in and lead this organization deep into the 21st century? Or do you have communication avenues at your disposal, such as social media, listservs, and email groups, that would put word of the opening in front of good candidates? If yes, I would so appreciate your willingness to help spread the word by sharing this email with your networks and colleagues. Can I count you in?

In addition to the pdf of the Executive Director Position Profile, here’s a link to the job post on the Careers page of our website.

Thank you for walking with us on this remarkable journey! I appreciate your efforts in this important mission.

All best,

Cheryl Hutchinson
Board Chair
Groundwork Center for Resilient Communities

Hans be the change
