Deny Line 5 Water resources permit. Tell Whitmer and Roos:
don't back down!

Mackinac Bridge

The Great Lakes are a global treasure, home to more than 20% of the world’s fresh surface water and serving as the lifeblood of our region. They provide drinking water for more than 40 million people, support a $6 trillion regional economy, and fuel industries like recreation, fishing, and shipping that are vital to Michigan’s prosperity.

But this incredible resource is at risk. Enbridge’s proposed Line 5 tunnel threatens to pollute the very waters that sustain us, endangering local fisheries, compromising water quality, and putting one of the most ecologically and culturally significant regions in the world in harm’s way.

In early 2025, the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) will decide whether to issue a critical Water Resources permit for this project. This decision is a turning point for the Great Lakes and Michigan’s future. We need Governor Whitmer and EGLE Director Phil Roos to take a stand and deny this permit to protect our waters, ecosystems, and communities from the risks posed by Enbridge’s dangerous track record.

Your voice is essential. By taking action now, we can build the public pressure needed to safeguard our Great Lakes and ensure this project doesn’t move forward. Together, we can hold our leaders accountable to protect Michigan’s most precious resource.
